ArnoldBEC PLLC is a woman-owned, historically underutilized certified business (HUB) and registered professional consulting firm. ArnoldBEC PLLC has on staff Licensed Architects in addition to Registered Roof Consultants (RRC), Registered Waterproofing Consultants (RWC), Registered Exterior Wall Consultants (REWC), Registered Building Envelope Consultants (RBEC) and Registered Roof Observers (RRO), all are accredited by the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants, formerly known as Roof Consultant’s Institute, Inc. in Raleigh, North Carolina.

These accreditations enable ArnoldBEC PLLC to provide professional consulting services for the entire building envelope, including roofing, waterproofing of glass curtain walls, storefront assemblies, exterior building veneers, plaza decks, pool decks, parking garages, above and below-grade waterproofing.

Jared Filbeck

Architect/Senior Consultant

Mr. Filbeck has had the opportunity to experience a broad range of projects. He has participated in designing, managing, and producing many different types of Institutional & Commercial projects, including renovation and new construction. His varied experiences have helped to develop his problem-solving skills, which he uses to achieve creative solutions. Mr. Filbeck brings thoroughness and attention to detail to each project that directly benefits his clients. His experience as an Architect enables him to look at each project holistically. Combining these attributes helps him deliver projects that satisfy the client’s needs. Mr. Filbeck is an active International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) member.

Sydney Singer

Architect

As a registered architect since 1991, Mr. Singer has been involved in various architectural new construction and renovation projects in the residential, institutional, and hospitality markets. His command of administration and oversight of building construction using a wide range of materials, from wood frames to steel to concrete, is of great value to our clients. Mr. Singer’s expertise in specification preparation, construction administration, and construction systems problem resolution has been invaluable. His skill in fostering consensus among owners and multiple groups of client representatives where multifaceted design problems and budgeting constraints were at issue is highly regarded.  Mr. Singer’s scheduling, budgeting, management, quality control, problem-solving, and communication skills ensure that each project is completed on time and budget with specified quality standards.

Mr. Singer serves our clients in engagements as a Project Architect, Project Manager, Design Review, Construction Management, Vertical curtain wall Waterproofing Evaluation, Roof Evaluation, and Design and construction problem-solving. His peers highly regard Mr. Singer’s expertise. Mr. Singer is an active International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) member.

Bill Hobgood, RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, RRO

Contributing Consultant

As a Senior Consultant, Mr. Hobgood’s responsibilities include Project Management, Design Review, Bidding and Contract Negotiation, Construction Administration, Roof Evaluation Services, Design and Construction Review, Construction Problem Solving, Leak Investigation, and Waterproofing Evaluation and Design. Since 2002 he has completed numerous roofing and facade restoration projects for various building types, uses, and Clients. He received his Registered Roof Observer (RRO) designation in 2006 and his Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC) and Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) in 2014.  Between March and November of 2014, Mr. Hobgood earned the Registered Roofing Consultant (RRC), Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC), and Registered Exterior Wall Consultant (REWC) designations from IIBEC., the International Institute of Building Envelope Consultants. Once all three of the above designations were earned, Mr. Hobgood was awarded the Registered Building Envelope Consultant (RBEC) designation as one of the above 30 Consultants in North America who have earned all three RCI Consulting designations.

He managed the regional design and construction offices for three major Corporations and has managed Project Managers and support personnel. Through his diverse career as a department manager and project manager, he has developed his communications, problem-solving, budgeting, scheduling, quality control, value engineering, and management skills. He has a proven track record of bringing projects under budget and on schedule.

Michael Cogburn

Contributing Consultant

Mr. Cogburn is a registered architect, and since the early 70s, he has been involved in hundreds of new construction projects. Mr. Cogburn has developed his project management skills through his vast and diversified experiences. His expertise in specification preparation, construction administration, and construction systems problem resolution has been invaluable. His skills in fostering consensus among owners and, in many cases, multiple groups of client representatives are highly regarded.

Mr. Cogburn has focused on Building Envelope projects where complicated, highly technical construction projects with budgeting constraints have been an issue. Mr. Cogburn’s expertise includes problem-solving, scheduling, budgeting, and quality assurance. Mr. Cogburn has directed hundreds of exterior restoration projects of multi-million dollar scope, including roofing, masonry, concrete, and stone veneer restoration, plaza deck design/restoration, and water infiltration correction, as well as curtain wall, window system, and other glazing system correction projects throughout the United States and Canada.
